Memoires

I  rember my Gran R Siitting outside her home in Smith St ordsall watching us play on the croft called "the chippy".  Gran watched out for" old Joe" Lufkin who olined the croft . He didn' t like anyone especially kids .But the mum" of Smith St kept an eye on kiddies playing with old carpets barrel s etc using their imagination at being superman flash Gordon pirates even .Joe would come out of nowhere to run us off. Years later just before demolition of our area I have this photo of my younger child in her pram watching out for old Joe to come to my own children as he did to me.
