Children and families in Lower Kersal have been digging deep to grow their own vegetables.
Youngsters from Yoghurt Pots nursery and Lower Kersal Children's Centre have been working with staff from Salford City Council's Health Improvement Service and volunteers from HSBC to build, fill and tend raised beds.
The aim was to help families improve their health by getting out in the fresh air, takiing gentle exercise and meeting and working with other people.
Councillor Margaret Morris, assistant mayor for health and wellbeing, said: "The sessions were proving very popular, producing a lot of vegetables which people were then able to take home for tea!"
