A Lease at Last!

 OCTOBER 5, 2013

Great news folks!

After much wrangling with the council, phone calls and E-mails, sheer perseverance and making an utter nuisance of myself we have moved on a pace.

The instillation of new security railings have been agreed.

We have to dig out and send our prospective lease arrangements terms and conditions (originally supplied two years ago) to Craig George for their legal team to approve or amend.

Check to see if we need to have CRB checks as we will be supervising work where young people may be involved. State what we are going to use the land for and how we are funding the project for its longevity, and away we go!

We have the funds in place to get our public liability insurance as soon as we get the lease in our grubby little paws. All we need now is a willing work force from anyone old or young in the Whitehall area wanting to work with us to create, build and maintain a ‘Friendship garden’ in the old play area of the park.

We are hoping to get a tea/coffee hut with a nice decked seating area where you can meet your friends for a cuppa. Lots of seating in the garden some with tables where your kids can meet up and do their homework. We want to build a BBQ for you to entertain your friends/family in the summer. Raised beds for you to grow veggies and a kids grow. pick and eat area.

There will be bug trails, wildlife friendly areas, beautiful landscaped borders and much more.

Anyone wishing to be involved in any way (it’s not all blood sweat and tears) please find us on Facebook ‘Friends of Whitehall’

Regards

Spike (Chair – Friends of Whitehall)
