Longford Park
Please Report the Errrors?
Caroline, Um,
it's, uh, good to speak to you today. And, um, just like to ask you about, uh
um how often you've been to Longford Park and what you liked about it.
Ok, um, so I don't go to Longford Park very often because it's not very close to me.
I am based in Bolton. However, I do have a friend who lives locally.
Um, and during lockdown,
we met each other in the park with our Children for the first time.
You know, we haven't seen each other for months and months, and it was such a joyful,
joyful day.
The sun had come out,
we were finally together.
Um,
yeah, and it was just really beautiful.
And I was really struck by all the different, um, areas that there were.
So I was still a little bit cautious
of being out in public. And I wasn't that into the Children using the play equipment.
So she took me through to the rock gardens and he spent a really lovely afternoon
there and where the Children could just climb and use their imagination and be wild.
And and even though it was busy,
it didn't feel too busy it felt it felt OK
and people were still quite respectful about keeping their distance.
Um,
and it was such a beautiful day that has struck in our memories that we've
actually been there quite a few times since whenever I come to visit her.
So I then discovered the cafe,
and it's such an inclusive cafe.
I've got a lot of dietary medical dietary requirements to
cater for all of those without even me worrying.
Um, so that's good.
I find the toilets a little bit problematic
in
a
very
and they're in the cafe. And if the cafe shuts, then
yeah, so you're out in the wilderness
and not everybody's OK with that.
Um and I do think even though it probably would be
like a 4 to 5 minute drive from my house,
you know, I would consider it,
Um, but I am quite lucky in the amount of open spaces that I have near me, so
I haven't made the effort to go there without
having an arrangement to see our friends
locally.
Um,
but I do recommend it to people, particularly people who live in Manchester,
because it's so joyful.
And I think no matter what the weather. You can still just really enjoy it.
Yeah, that's great.
So the kids particularly enjoyed the, um
the rock climbing and
the few
rocks in that area. It is lovely.
Yeah, absolutely.
And there's lots of, like, trees for them and, you know,
and they can jump and they can be a little bit daring and brave.
But actually, it's really safe.
Um, so that's nice.
And then subsequently, since we've become a less, less covid sensitive,
they have used the play equipment and really enjoyed
that. And obviously there's the ones for the younger ones.
And there's the wooden one, and,
um
and they do love that for me, though, I prefer just having a nice walk
and
getting a bit lost and finding someone to chat to
or setting up a blanket and having a picnic.
And I think it just kind of got it. Oh, that's brilliant. That's really good. OK,
thanks very much
