Family dynamics during the pandemic
Please Report the Errrors?
How did Covid affect you
overall? Not in a good way.
I at in the beginning it was nice because I didn't have to
be around people and it gave me a break from the world.
But as it got longer, I wasn't able to go and see my grandmother since she was in Wales.
I can just go over to her place when I
couldn't handle my family and I couldn't go and see,
my friends
and school was just taking a huge toll on me. Overall,
how did it affect your school work?
I definitely was way under motivated when it came to school life.
I would take so long to finish my assignments and hand in almost everything late.
I would not do like as much as I could.
I would just do the bare minimum so I could get it over with.
And it was so difficult for me.
Did you do any like online?
The entire year I was online,
I was still working with my school that I had been previously going to,
but I was the only student in my grade doing permanently online.
Everybody else would only be joining the zoom calls if they were sick
or had to go somewhere and couldn't be in class that day.
And my mother would not let me go into school in person.
You mentioned Yo
Mo?
Yes. We called almost every day and she was there for me when I needed her.
But it just wasn't the same since I didn't get to see her
and I was still stuck at home. How was your mental health during the CO?
Absolutely terrible. It definitely took a downward spiral. I was not happy at all.
And I was just really depressing.
How was it being with your family all the time? Not that good.
Me and my family were not that close. It's not that bad.
Me and my stepfather are decently close,
but me and my mother just don't fit well together.
And then I had to help with their toddlers a lot.
So it was not fun for me.
