Parent and Carer experiences of moving to Adult social care: The importance of multi-cultural and community-focused networks

I mean,
the,
the major issue we've got,
we've got loads of people from different countries with different languages.
And everyone doesn't speak English.
That's one of our major problems we've got.
So if we can have more people as community
champions in different communities would speak in different languages,
that will be really helpful
to help other people.
So like myself,
I can speak 6 different languages.
So I can help people with different 6 different languages,
but like we want more people who can speak like Nigerian,
Arabic,
you know,
you know,
Chinese,
you know,
Japanese,
all the many,
many different languages.
So for example,
originally where I was where I was born,
we call it the mini United Nation area
because there's so many people from around
the world living there speaking different languages.
One school.
Around the corner from there has 85 different languages
of children
in that school.
I mean,
we've,
we've recently uh
working as a multi-agency,
um,
there's a,
it's a,
a home office strategy called Clear Hall Build.
So Clear Hall Build is a national
um
project of where the areas are being put down
to rebuild the area,
so multi agencies are working
in that multi-agency,
what we've done,
we've made leaflets
for
everyone in their language.
So they can understand what improvements we are doing in the area,
not just specifically on the policing or the crime side,
including health as well,
and what support and help they can get from health professionals
and other agencies as well.
I mean,
I would say
the people who've got experience
in their field.
They should be more open and go out there and help people.
And they can
pass their experience on to to other people and get them trained
and so they can pass that experience to other people.
So it's like my grandfather was a community champion,
my dad was,
and it's been passed on in generations,
and I'm,
I'm,
I'm doing it now.
So I'm looking forward for my son to,
to follow my footsteps as well.
It's,
I,
I'll tell you one thing,
if we can work together
as one team
and we've done like multicultural events
where we've had health health professionals,
we've had the police,
we've had the ambulance,
we have the fire service,
we've had other organisations who come over.
And when we look,
we've got a multicultural event.
Everyone's turned up.
We can live in a peace world,
you know,
we can,
we can live together and we can work together.
