Had a great morning on Saturday with Anne, Di, Lisa and Dawn from the Whit Lane film group, as well as Community Reporters Terry and Frank. We were all at Salford College for the Award Ceremony that marks the finale of Adult Learner Week.
Huge congratulations to Terry who won a Community Champion award in recognition of all of the volunteering that he does for various different groups across Salford. He's currently studying counseling and psychology to further his voluntary work with people who have suffer from drink and drug problems.
Recognition came too for the Whit Lane film group who created an amazing film about their local estate - from being absolute beginners. The film was a big hit and it was great to see their efforts rewarded on Saturday.
Finally, Frank also received a certificate to reflect the incredible journey he has had since having a stroke in 2010. Frank is so highly motivated and an excellent Comminuty Reporter - and he also recently completed the BBC Community Reporter scheme too so look out for more posts from Frank soon!
Well done to all of the reporters who were on Saturday. And next year, maybe it could be you!!
