This storyteller talks about the ‘bedrock’ of being raised in a culture of saving collectively (through Pardner) and working, to get what you need (e.g. buying a home, presents at Christmas, a car etc). The ethos of saving and not relying on credit. They touch on how difficult it is for young people to ‘have a roof over their head’, how we are living with greater levels of inequality and where this can be traced back to. The storyteller talks about there being ‘the same rules’ applying to anyone with regards to growing their wealth (not just them or their community) and that there are actually very few ways to ‘grow’ money.
