As part of a collaborative research project between people from racialised communities, London School of Economics and Equality Trust, Arundo shares their insights into what is wealth, what helps and hinders people from racialised communities to build wealth and what could make a difference. The research was funded by the British Academy Innovation Fellowship Scheme (Fellowship number IF2324/24008). You can find the summary briefing from this project and any further information from www.equalitytrust.org.uk
This story teller describes wealth as financial stability, freedom and growth. She sees it as financial independence without needing support from the government over generations, and her wealth goals are to be able to help her children buy property. This story teller discusses investing in herself, in her education and skills to advance her career but describes the determination this takes and the challenges this causes and recognises that some people don't take that path due to the stress and difficulties.
