~~Independent living
Approximately 6 years ago my father passed away.
I had always lived with my parents since I was born.
My family did not think I would be able to manage living on my own but I thought I would give it a try and see how it went. It was not easy but I now value my independence.
For the first two years after losing my dad I carried on living in the family home at Knott End near Blackpool. We as a family had been there for nearly thirty years.
I worked for the DSS in Cleveleys for twenty six years and a retirement package became available. On the advice of my GP I moved to Worsley to be nearer my sister and her family.
I now live in my own bungalow about two minutes from my sister.
My move has had so many pluses for example :
I can see Allan, my nephew, and his wife Helen and their two children Esme and Noah
I also see much more of Matthew my youngest nephew and his partner Tina .
My sister Lesley and my brother in law Ian are both retired now and they spend time travelling.
I have so much support and I could not be happier.
What a great story. Glad
What a great story. Glad things worked out
