THE JOY OF DECORATING (OR NOT!)
I like my little house and can now pick and choose whatever style I like in terms of décor and furniture.
People accuse me of “always decorating” and changing my rooms and that irritates me because I take a pride in my home.
My latest task in the decorating timetable is to do one wall in my sons room whilst he is away on yet another holiday!
However, this was not straight forward as the paper I had put on previously had begun to peel off at the edges and I think it was because of the paint underneath. To try and prevent the next lot of paper doing the same thing, I had to prepare the wall and to do this I sanded it and then decided to give it a coat of emulsion.
The tin of emulsion didn’t seem like it had very much in it but probably enough to cover the one wall so I thought I’d give it a quick shake before opening and stirring. I picked up the tin to give it a quick shake and OMG, the lid came off and splattered all over the kitchen floor, units, cooker, washing, fridge freezer as well as me!! The air was blue whilst I decided how to clean it up before it spread to far over the floor. In the process of cleaning it up, I hadn’t noticed the cat had decided she needed something to eat and trotted in walking right through the middle of the paint leaving little paw prints! Could the day get any worse? It could, but I won’t commit it to paper!!
The fridge, washing and cooker are paint free but I can’t say that for the rest of the kitchen – hey ho – and the bedroom wall is complete.
Lets hope it stays up and gets my son’s approval when he returns!!
