Chorlton has the most street closures for the Royal wedding in Manchester - chequers rd, brundretts rd, regan ave, priory ave, cavendish ave. Why? Been some debate about this with people saying they are being 'ironic' ie using it as an excuse for a party, not as a celebration of the wedding
So for example the Chorlton Green Garden party (Fri 12 noon -7pm) says it is celebrating the local community, not the wedding. Sound a bit like having your cake and eating it to me. Anyway there will be a dog show, tug of war, music and a buffet from the Horse & Jockey costing £2, see http://ow.ly/4Jaml
