As part of a collaborative research project between people from racialised communities, London School of Economics and Equality Trust, Keya shares her insights into what is wealth, what helps and hinders people from racialised communities to build wealth and what could make a difference. The research was funded by the British Academy Innovation Fellowship Scheme (Fellowship number IF2324/24008). You can find the summary briefing from this project and any further information from www.equalitytrust.org.uk

Keya talks about a desire to feel financial secure and stable, the frustrations of not having security despite a good education and employment. Keya reflects on her experiences of trying to get on the property ladder, the gendered nature of inheritance in certain cultures and the challenge of accessing education. Having studied abroad Keya speaks to experiences across different countries. Keya also speaks to the frustrations of low wages within a context of ever rising costs.
